Being an Atlanta native, Phillip E. Allen has been honored to invest his time, talent and energies in two very different worlds of

music making … the highly competitive and demanding arena of professional secular music, dramatic theatre, and show business, … and the deeply rewarding and spiritually fulfilling ministry of church pipe organ and orchestral music. Phillip has also been presented with many opportunities over the years to minister to musicians as well as church congregations – leading them to use their talents and abilities to worship Almighty God.

The blessings Phillip has enjoyed in the professional secular area range from composing the festive theme song for the 1985 Macy’s Christmas Parade, to having his compositions heard on stages around the world. The most noted being: Off-Broadway, The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., and The Beverly Hills Playhouse in Beverly Hills, California. In addition to being awarded the highly prestigious and coveted Peabody Award for his work on television, he produced the first original, inspiring theme song for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and composed original music for The Jerusalem 3000 Celebration played by The Israel Philharmonic and conducted by the world-famous symphony conductor Zubin Mehta.

Phillip has had many opportunities in the metropolitan Atlanta area where he has conducted prominent church orchestras for over 30 years, served as Principal Organist for numerous churches, and enjoyed ministering to a wide range of talented and dedicated musicians, both professional and non-professional.

The great reward and hope which lies in Phillip’s heart is … to know that God has touched many lives with the love of God through his heart, spirit, talent and many endeavors, … to always enjoy life and live every moment to the fullest through sheer joy and laughter, … and to make a mark for the utmost highest of excellence through his God-given talent and art for making music – music befitting only a king, … the King of Kings!

“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think only about such things!” (Philippians 4:8)

May the credo of the great musical genius Johann Sebastian Bach, who completed each and every of his numerous musical compositions with writing these words in the end margins, “Soli Deo Gloria!” (“To God only, alone be all the glory!”), be a hallmark of inspiration and aspiration for Phillip as well as for us all.
